Syndication
You are probably here because you have a question about RSS, Atom, etc... Google's blogger site has a good explanation.
Basically, they (RSS and Atom) serve the same purpose. And that is to serve you information. News updates, latest developments, and (perhaps) new photos from a friend. :o) It is a fight that non-programmers and non-bloggers should not have to deal with! That is why you can access both here, use whatever your email/newsreader allows you to.
To use RSS or Atom you need either a browser or email application capable of reading "syndication" feeds (e.g. Opera, Mozilla, Thunderbird, and others), or an account on www.bloglines.com (which does it for you).
Once you become RSS/Atom "aware", you can subscribe to all sorts of "nifty" things. Current news (via Yahoo, CNN, Google, etc...), Blogs (like mine), and really just about anything you are interested in.
If you have ever seen this :
; or this :
; then you have seen a website that you could subscribe to via Atom or RSS.
Final note: RSS and Atom provide a terrific way to keep upto date with changing information. If you would like to be posted on new information in these galleries, then subscribe. Else check back periodically. Thx!
